I have a Lenovo Edge 2-in-1 that I use Windows 10 Insider on. Recent builds starting around 14295 in the Fast Ring caused major issues with my mouse after updating forcing me to roll back. The mouse would behave erratically and would become practically unusable. After the recent Insider update the behavior was still there causing me to explore the issue further.
Searching online I noticed a number of people having similar issues in the following threads: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Yoga-Series-Notebooks/Lenovo-yoga-3-pro-mouse-lags/td-p/2169773 and http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware/windows-10-jerky-mouse-movement/a6abbbb9-aa3b-48e8-92bc-b3c1db2db18c?page=2.
The forums pointed to the Realtek audio drivers and more specifically the file FMAPP.EXE. Several users had disabled or renamed the executable to return their mouse behavior to normal or disabled the Realtek audio drivers. I tested the solution and it was in fact that process causing the issue on my system as well. Seeing that it was related to the audio drivers I checked Windows update but there was nothing reported available. Opening Device Manager and navigating to the audio card I was able to search online for a new driver and sure enough one showed up using that method.
Applying the latest driver fixed the issue for me without resorting to disabling the service or renaming it.
